Top Ten Tuesday #2 : Top Ten Character Names I Love

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish blog. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists.

This is the second time I participate in this challenge, but the first time I will do it in english. I`ve decided that it makes the most sense since the challenge is based on that. Todays theme is Top Ten Character Names I love/or Unsual Names. I went for the first one even though the second seems fun too, since I experienced that I actually have some difficulties trying to remember names at all. Here goes:

Top Ten Character Names I Love

1. He Who Must Not Be Named and Luna Lovegood from Rowling`s Harry Potter series. Everybody always know who`s being talked about when someone says He Who Must Not Be Named, and if they dont, well; "Houston, we got a problem!". Luna Lovegood is the perfect character name for its owner because it describes her in the right way, like goodhearted but weird.

2. Veruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A strange not-realistic name, which at the same time actually sounds like a real name. Willy Wonka and Mike TV are also pretty awesome names from the same book.

3. Tufsla, Vifsla, Filifjonka, Hufsa, Stinky and Hattifnattene, the norwegian translated versions of some of the unbelievable feelgood names from finnish Moomin by Tove Jansson.

4. Primrose and Katniss(+Catnip) from the Hunger Games simply because they sound pretty like flowers.

5. Smeagol/Gollum from Lord of the Rings. The way Gollum himselfs are "spitting out" his own name in the movies are unforgettable.

6. Sookie Stackhouse from the Southern Vampires Mysteries.

7. Aslan from Narnia. It`s a cozy safe-name giving good vibes.

8. Grev Dracula.

9. Sansa Stark from the Song of Ice and Fire series, because the name fits her. She`s delicate and naive, but strong. I also like the surname Snow.

10. Nemi from the norwegian comics by Lise Myhre, simply because it`s a cool name.

  1. Katniss seems to be a popular choice today! Great picks.
